B1/ B2 Visa Interview questions for USMLE aspirants

These are some of the sample questions that might be asked during your US Visa interview:

  • What specialty are you applying for?
  • Why do you want to study in the US rather than your home country?
  • What are the Universities you applied (None of the officers asked me for "Hospitals". They always asked for "Universities")
  • What would you do after residency?
  • Why cant you take the exam(CSA or STEP 3) in your home country?
  • What is your estimated expense for the trip?
  • Tell me something about your family.
  • What does your sponsor do in the US. How long has he been in the US? When did you meet him last?
  • Has anything changed in your application? (if you are reapplying)
  • Why was your visa rejected last time? (for reapplicants)
  • How can you convince me that you are going to return to your home country?
  • what about Medical insurance for the trip?
  • Have you gone abroad before? - If you had travelled in the past it is considered a plus point
  • Where are you working/studying?
  • What are your work timings?
  • How many bedded hospital is your place?
  • What is your salary?
  • What would you do if you get a marraige proposal from a US citizen?
  • What your plans for your marraige?
  • Do you have any relatives or friends in the USA?
  • What are your plans 5 years from now?
  • What is your grade in your medical school?
